The Role
The Talent Acquisition & HR Specialist plays a key role in driving full-cycle recruitment and supporting core HR functions across The Foray Group. This position is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent while ensuring an exceptional candidate and onboarding experience. With a process-focused mindset and strong technological capabilities, the Specialist identifies efficiencies in recruitment and HR operations, while supporting payroll inputs and system accuracy. Highly organized and proactive, this individual is a trusted partner to hiring managers and supervisors—offering insight, support, and execution on hiring decisions

With a hunter mindset for talent and a process-driven approach, the Specialist takes initiative to find the best talent, streamline hiring processes, and drive improvements across recruitment and onboarding. They are an effective executor who follows through on projects and brings a data-informed approach to decision-making. This individual is a a collaborative partner to hiring managers and supervisors, with a customer service mindset and a continuous improvement lens. This role also supports broader HR operations and payroll and may be asked to assist in other areas of the business as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Selection
Lead recruitment efforts for frontline roles (production, educators), office staff, and other niche positions
Use the Topgrading method for screening and interviewing candidates
Conduct pre-screens, interviews, tours of the office/facility, and complete scorecards
Partner with supervisors and hiring committees to assess candidates and make informed hiring recommendations
Create and present employment contracts to successful candidates
Conduct reference checks, education verifications, and social media screening
Track and report on key recruitment metrics
Continuously refine sourcing strategies to attract top talent, especially for hard-to-fill or specialized roles
Onboarding & Orientation
Collaborate with supervisors to build tailored onboarding plans for each role
Coordinate and facilitate orientation sessions for new hires
Ensure all new hire documents and employee files are completed and maintained
Monitor early-stage integration to support a successful cultural and operational fit
HR Operations & Payroll
Input new hires into ADP and ensure payroll setup and paperwork are complete and accurate for timely pay
Support payroll processes for one of our business units, ensuring accurate and timely inputs
Maintain accurate employee records and uphold data integrity and confidentiality
Support ongoing audits and improvements to HR and payroll processes
HR Team & Culture
Be an active participant in HR team meetings and cadence
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR practices and systems
Support the HR Director with various projects and administrative needs
Qualifications and Experience
Completion of post-secondary education is required
Diploma or degree in Human Resources is an asset
2–4 years of experience in recruitment, ideally in both frontline and office environments
Recruiter designation (e.g., RPR, CIR) is an asset
Experience using HRIS and payroll systems such as BambooHR and ADP is a strong asset
Experience supporting or processing payroll is considered an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
