Looking for Vice President – Upcoming Integrated Steel Power Plant (Tilda, Raipur)
Our client, a leading steel company, seeks a highly accomplished Vice President – Integrated Steel Plant to spearhead operations in Tilda, Raipur. About the Role:
The VP – Integrated Steel Plant provides strategic direction and operational leadership for the entire upcoming Tilda, Raipur facility. You will lead a large, multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable plant operations while maintaining the highest quality and environmental standards. This role involves overseeing the plant's construction, commissioning, and subsequent operation.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the integrated steel plant's strategic plan, aligned with overall business objectives.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency across all departments.
• Oversee the steelmaking process to meet production targets while maintaining quality and minimizing downtime.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability. This includes recruiting and training key personnel.
• Cultivate a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Manage the plant's budget and P&L to ensure cost-effective operations and maximize profitability.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, product quality, and environmental performance.
• Oversee the construction, commissioning, and ramp-up phases of the plant.
• Build strong relationships with local community and government leaders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, or related); MBA highly desirable.
• Minimum 25+ years' steel industry experience, including 8+ years in senior leadership managing an integrated steel plant.
• Proven success in achieving operational excellence, driving cost reductions, and improving plant efficiency.
• Comprehensive understanding of the steelmaking process.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong financial acumen and P&L management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
• Experience with labor unions preferred.
• Familiarity with the Chhattisgarh regulatory environment is a plus.
• Experience in managing large-scale construction and commissioning projects within the steel industry is highly desirable.
