Position Title: Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

Full time Position

Salary Range: $74,000 to $80,000

Beston Group is a well-established Plumbing, Drainage company, founded in 1+8+ and have recently acquired HVAC division. Beston has gained a reputation for servicing some of the largest residential builders in Melbourne as well as servicing small boutique and private owner builders.

Reports to: Managing Director

Position Summary

Repairing, maintaining and installing air conditioning and refrigeration units in commercial and residential sectors

Education/Experience:

Certificate IV in Airconditioining and Refrigeration Services or other equivalent qualification and two years relevant work experience

OR

Three years relevant work experience

Position Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Interpreting job requirements based on drawings and specifications and determining installation reference points.

-Operating refrigeration systems for testing purposes, inspecting mechanisms and making necessary adjustments.

-Conducting drilling operations, mounting brackets installation, and cutting , bending and threading of pipes.

-Installing and repairing various components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil and chilled water..

-Conducting thorough inspections of refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, and repairing or replacing defective components.

-Connecting equipment by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing pipes, and verifying alignment and fit accuracy.

-Conducting pressure tests by filling systems with gas or fluid to detect potential leaks.

-Documenting causes of malfunctions and the corresponding actions taken.

-Evacuating test gases and fluids using vacuum pumps and refilling with refrigerant.

-Adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reassembling the systems

-Complying with all Australian Refrigeration standards and refrigeration systems

-Complying with all OHS regulations
