Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Journeyman Cabinetmaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in all aspects of cabinetmaking, from design and fabrication to installation. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to producing top-notch commercial cabinetry that meets both functional and aesthetic requirements, while adhering to AWMAC and FSC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cabinet Fabrication: Build and assemble custom cabinets, solid-surface countertops and other wood products based on client specifications, and other tasks as needed.
Material Selection: Identify and select appropriate materials (wood, laminates, hardware) to match project requirements.
Machine Operation: Operate woodworking machinery such as table saws, routers, drills and CNC machine to cut, shape and finish materials.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production and installation of cabinets.
Quality Control: Ensure all products meet AWMAC quality standards, with attention to detail and precision.
Assembly & Installation: Assemble cabinets and fixtures in the workshop and assist with on-site delivery and installation when necessary.
Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
5 years proven experience as a cabinetmaker in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials and finishes.
Proficiency in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot during production.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or Skilled Trade Certificate is a plus.
WHMIS certification
Valid driver's license with 3 years experience driving cube van (4500kg) is a plus.
