Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Zone & Co., you will be responsible for designing and developing new functionality for our SuiteApps while continuously improving our development processes. This role combines hands-on feature development with process optimization, making it both dynamic and impactful. You will work on enhancing SuiteApps and contributing to the efficiency of engineering teams across the company. Our development environment leverages a custom SDK built on NetSuite's technology, featuring an automated test framework, linting, TypeScript, and automatic code and documentation generation.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop software applications based on business and technical requirements.
Write well-structured, testable, and efficient code using appropriate programming languages.
Apply software engineering principles to analyze problems and develop scalable solutions.
Conduct thorough testing of newly developed functionality.
Debug and troubleshoot existing systems to diagnose and resolve issues.
Develop and execute test cases to maintain software quality and reliability.
Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders throughout the development process.
Create and maintain technical documentation for software systems and development processes.
Develop specifications and assess the operational feasibility of projects.
Document software functionality and system architecture for knowledge sharing.
Analyze existing systems and provide recommendations for enhancements.
Stay up to date with the latest software development technologies and best practices.
Contribute to the optimization of software development processes and methodologies.

Job Qualifications:

Remote Work Experience – Ability to work effectively in a distributed team.
JavaScript / SuiteScript Expertise – Strong understanding of JavaScript and SuiteScript.
Web Services Knowledge – Proficiency in XML/XSL, JSON, and web service principles (REST, SOAP, WSDL).
Version Control – Experience with Git or other versioning systems.
Frontend Development – Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
Backend Development – Experience with Node.js or Java is an advantage.
ERP/CRM Systems – Prior experience with NetSuite or other ERP/CRM platforms is a significant plus.
