Job Description

Job Overview

The Cash Associate plays a key role in delivering Ridley’s Cycle’s renowned customer service by being the final point of contact during purchases and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. You’re the in-store quarterback and an expert on all things Ascend, confidently navigating sales, inventory, and operations. With a strong focus on clothing and accessories, you provide knowledgeable recommendations, keep displays fresh and easy to navigate, and take the lead in organizing inventory. Your role directly fuels sales growth, elevates the customer experience, and keeps the heart of the store running strong.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Greet customers promptly and warmly as they enter the store or approach the cash desk.

2. Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cycling clothing and accessories (e.g., jerseys, padded shorts, gloves, eyewear, helmets, etc.).

3. Maintain front counter cleanliness and organization daily

4. Handle product returns or exchanges in accordance with Ridley’s Cycle operation manual

5. Assist customers with sizing and fit for apparel and helmets.

6. Accurately process sales transactions, refunds, and gift card activations using the POS system (Ascend).

7. Ensure correct application of club and sponsorship discounts, promotions, and loyalty programs.

8. Complete Cash Reconciliation at the end of the day

+. Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the clothing and accessories section.

10. Restock clothing and accessories displays based on current merchandising plans.

11. Support completion of Cycle Counts

12. Complete tagging and retagging of product

13. Identify low-stock or fast-moving items and communicate with the buyer or manager.

14. Coordinate with floor staff and buyers to stay informed on new product launches and technical apparel details.

15. Provide feedback from customers on clothing/accessory preferences and fit.

16. Assist with Store Transfers as needed

17. Complete warranty claims as needed following the correct procedure

18. Addressing inventory concerns as necessary

1. Participate in a minimum of 3 Ridley’s Community Events during the current year.

2. Maintain and stay up to date with your When I Work schedule

3. Punch in and out daily, including at your lunch break

4. Provide social media content from rides and events attended

Job Specifications

Qualifications and Experience

· Extreme attention to detail

· Bicycle industry and Retail Experience is an asset

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Strong leadership skills

· Exceptional interpersonal skills

· Strong written and verbal communication

Standards of Performance

· Maintain a positive attitude

· Expert on Ascend

· Coachable

· Trek-U Guide status reached and maintained

· Maintain 85+ NPS

Working Conditions

· 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 30-minute unpaid lunch break and one 15-minute paid break

· Weekend Required

· Ability to lift 50 lbs, carry and stack boxes up to 50 lbs

· Able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $15.00-$1+.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
