Supportive Work/Life Balance, 76 hours per fortnight
$++,448 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 5 Major Venues) + Superannuation

Your new role

As the Exhibition and Production Team Leader at the Rockhampton Museum of Art, you will play a pivotal role in bringing artistic visions to life. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering exhibition and production services, ensuring that all projects are executed professionally and efficiently. Your role will involve overseeing project planning, costs, risk, and safety across exhibitions and productions, ensuring that artists, lenders, performers, hirers, and presenters can realize their creative visions.

You will manage the preparation, implementation, and materialization of the exhibition program, including fabrication, signage, interpretive materials, and installation. Additionally, you will operate and maintain exhibition and event systems, oversee the delivery process of exhibitions, and coordinate the maintenance and storage of exhibition equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in providing advice and assistance to the team and other stakeholders, supervising staff, and ensuring that all activities are carried out to industry standards.

This position will work weekends and outside of normal office hours as required.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria

Diploma of Design (interior / industrial), or Cert IV in Library and Information Services or equivalent industry qualification with significant experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated experience in artwork installation and operation and maintenance of exhibition related technical equipment ensuring that strict safety practices and industry standards are followed.
Project planning, risk management skills and ability to monitor budgets to ensure project milestones are met.
Demonstrated experience in leading, training and mentoring staff, contractors and volunteers and working with stakeholders to coordinate work activities.
