Job description
Scientist: Rice Breeder (Location: Bangalore , KA)

We are looking for a horticulture Scientist with experience in Rice Breeding. Knowledge of seed development is required. You will report to the R&D-Head.

Responsibilities include:

1) Collection, maintenance and screening of germplasm accessions for development of new cultivars.

2) Employing innovative methods in research to produce novel cultivars.

3) Ensure compliance with applicable regulations for NBA, NBPGR, PPVFRA and state laws.

4) Strategic data-driven selection of crops for development, with goals of sustainable and profitable farming.

5) Provide management with business intelligence including identifying new product requirements.

6) Research and analyze crops for hydrology and region-specific requirements.

7) Mentoring and managing the team of scientists and field staff for research and development of cultivars.

8) Track monsoon, irrigation, ground water, and plantation data from various sources and formulate strategy for various regions, months in advance.

+) Regular field visit, hands-on work and willingness to work with farmers.

10) Launching new seeds, extensive field demonstrations of new cultivars and farmer education.

11) Educate KisanKraft team members & dealers from other non-agriculture background to develop a cohesive network.

12) Adapt to changing requirement of job and business goals of the Company.

13) Build your team! Recruit, train and prune as necessary.

Qualification: Ph.D. in Agriculture (with specialization in Genetics & Plant Breeding) with Minimum 1 Year Exp.

Travel: Occasional travel is required for this position for production, demonstration and farmer education events etc.
