Overview
Casper Mobility is seeking a forward-thinking Materials & Structural Systems Engineer to help shape the future of aerial mobility. You will play a pivotal role in designing and testing the structural systems of next-generation flying vehicles, including frame architecture, load-bearing components, and integration of advanced materials.
This role combines deep knowledge of structural engineering with practical experience in materials science, vehicle dynamics, and certification standards. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of innovation and precision engineering.
Responsibilities
Design, model, and test primary structures and load-bearing components for electric aerial vehicles (eVTOL).
Analyze stresses, deformation, and fatigue performance under static and dynamic loads.
Integrate material selection into system-level performance, working with composites, metals, and emerging lightweight materials.
Collaborate with engineering leads, battery teams, and prototyping specialists to deliver flight-worthy structures.
Ensure compliance with aviation safety and manufacturing regulations (e.g., CSA, ASTM, FAA pathways).
Utilize CAD, FEA, and structural simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, Fusion 360).
Preferred Experience & Skills
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
Proficiency in FEA tools, structural analysis, and CAD design.
Familiarity with carbon fiber, aluminum alloys, and hybrid composite systems.
Experience with vehicle prototyping, airframe testing, or mobility startups is a plus.
Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and documentation skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
