NLAM is seeking an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Machinist to join our growing team.

Reporting to our Manufacturing Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for job setup and part production on our DMG/Mori NTX2500/1500 7-axis mill/turn machine. Depending on demonstrated skills and experience, production duties may be expanded to include new program prove out prove and CNC programming using Esprit. The ideal candidate will also possess manual machining experience to support our metal additive part finishing and production CNC operations.

Duties

Duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

Perform setup, calibration, maintenance, & operation of DMG/Mori NTX2500/1500 and future machine
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, specifications & associated documentation, as well as job travelers, etc.
Verification of dimensions, tolerances of products for accuracy & conformance to specification using precision measuring equipment & instruments such as Verniers, gauges, micrometers & 3D gauging equipment. Conduct light repairs including bench work, blending, de-burring & dressing.
Experience working within a quality management system such as ISO+001, Controlled Goods, and/or AS+100
Assist in training/cross training to gain new skills in other processes as required to suit the business needs, including assisting the Manufacturing Manager with the compilation of work instructions and procedures.
Monitor shop practices to ensure that you operate in a healthy, safe, and environmentally conscience manner, per NLAM policies and procedures. Take steps to raise any condition that violates this fundamental principle.
Make recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and profit of the company in general, and to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
Other duties as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.

Company Requirements:

Journeyman Machinist with Interprovincial Red Seal is preferred
Minimum 5+ years related experience, or a combination of education & experience will be considered
This is a full-time, M-F, day shift position
Successful completion of a criminal background check
Successful completion of a post-offer medical and drug & alcohol test
