Higher Ground is a well-established café in Mount Martha, known for its quality coffee and excellent customer service. We aim to maintain the same quality in the meals we serve as the coffees we prepare. We are currently seeking an experienced or eager to learn Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team on a casual basis for cooking light, breakfast meals.

Cooking finishes at 2:30pm at the cafe and therefore the successful applicant would not need to do late/night shift
Task & Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency and presentation.
Assist the Chef in menu planning and development of new dishes
Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards.
Monitor stock levels and monitor food wastage
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualification & Experience

1 year experience as a kitchen hand/cook at a cafe or similar business OR someone who just finished their Certification
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and quality control
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour
