Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and taxation, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism. This role involves overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with the Canada Income Tax Act, and providing insightful financial analyses to support our clients' business growth.​

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and other regulatory requirements.​
Tax Compliance: Manage the preparation and filing of personal, corporate, and trust tax returns, ensuring adherence to the Canada Income Tax Act and other relevant legislation.​
Client Advisory: Provide strategic business advisory services to clients, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and identifying opportunities for business growth and improvement.​
Audit and Assurance: Lead Review engagements, including planning, execution, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with applicable standards.​
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.​
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department and for clients.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.​
Certification: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing or Close to writing CFE exam.​
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, in public practice.​
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxCycle, QBO) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.​
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, ASPE and full-cycle bookkeeping
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; strong attention to detail; effective communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team.​
