About The Position

PFS Accountants is looking for a full-time General Accountant with at least 3 years of relevant experience and a relevant bachelor’s qualification.

Reporting To

This role reports to the Director

Tasks and Responsibilities

l Assisting clients in developing budgetary and accounting policies to improve financial management and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

l Setting up and maintaining accounting systems, including advising clients on suitable computer-based software.

l Preparing and reviewing financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and other management reports for client company stakeholders.

l Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with ATO requirements.

l Providing financial reporting support to management, boards, and regulatory authorities for decision-making and statutory compliance.

l Verifying the accuracy and statutory compliance of financial documents and reports.

l Conducting audits and financial investigations and drafting analytical reports.

l Analysing operational costs, income, and expenditures to support financial planning.

l Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals and businesses.

l Providing advice on taxation, business structures, and financial planning strategies.

l Managing and improving internal control systems.

l Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to arrange funds management solutions.

l Assessing cash flow and evaluating financial risks related to capital investment decisions.

Qualifications, education, experience, and abilities required:

Qualifications/Education

· Relevant Bachelor’s qualification

Experience/ Knowledge

· At least 3 years of relevant experience working as General Accountant in Accounting firms setting

Essential Skills and Requirements:

· Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, BAS/IAS lodgements, and ATO compliance.

· Experienced in preparing financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.

· Skilled in analysing financial data and producing management and performance reports.

· Proficient in Xero, MYOB, and Reckon, compulsory skills in HandiSoft.

· High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, ATO, and auditors.

· Familiar with internal control systems and Australian Accounting Standards.

· Able to work independently and within a team environment.

Salary

Below is the annual base salary to be paid, plus superannuation contributions made at the level prescribed by the Superannuation Guarantee laws, or any laws that replace them. Annual base salary is $80,000 + superannuation.

Full-time working rights are required for this role (Australian Permanent Residents or Citizens are preferred).
