Junior System Administrator

Key: Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop technologies and virtualization systems.

Brydon Gama, a solution provider, is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support ongoing infrastructure operations and projects. The Junior Systems Administrator will play a key role in system administration, monitoring, incident response, and supporting virtual desktop environments.

This position requires foundational expertise in Citrix technologies, virtualization platforms, and proactive system maintenance. The Junior Systems Administrator will collaborate with senior technical staff, contribute to knowledge management, and work directly with service leads to ensure a high level of customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Provision and deprovision Virtual Desktops (VDI) including assignment to appropriate Delivery Groups.
Monitor, manage, and respond to system alerts and incidents promptly.
Support Virtual Apps and Desktop environments including Citrix Delivery Services, PVS, Machine Creation Services, ICA/HDX protocols, Session Reliability, and StoreFront.
Assist in managing Hyperconverged and Virtualization environments (Nutanix AOS and AHV platforms).
Respond to escalated issues, prioritize tickets based on severity, and collaborate with vendors and team members for resolution.
Work alongside Senior Systems Specialists to enhance operations and support process improvements.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge base documentation.
Participate in change management and incident response activities.
Deliver consistent, professional communication to Client Service Leads regarding system updates, incidents, and changes.
Travel to Data Centers as required for hardware installations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Competencies & Skills:

Working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop solutions.
Familiarity with Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments.
Strong troubleshooting and remediation skills for system incidents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in collaborative environments.
Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in systems administration or a related technical support role.
Exposure to Citrix, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure support.
Ability to manage tasks independently and contribute in a team environment.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is an asset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
