Deputy General Counsel (Patent & Innovation Strategy) – Equity Partner
Location: Remote

What You’ll Be Doing
This role isn’t about filing forms—it’s about defending the IP spine of a next-generation ecosystem. You’ll operate at the frontier of patent law, legal engineering, and invention strategy across blockchain, AI, real-time infrastructure, creator tools, and immersive interfaces.
You're not here to be reactive. You’re here to build, architect, and lock down the legal rights of innovation that haven’t even been released yet.
You’ll be responsible for:
Crafting and managing patent strategies for novel AI systems, smart contract logic, UX inventions, token ecosystems, and decentralized compute layers
Evaluating innovation disclosures and invention statements with product, engineering, and research teams
Defining the IP fence for Anime Universe's proprietary systems, including UI frameworks, orchestration engines, and economic protocols
Preparing provisional filings, PCT strategies, and utility/model filings across jurisdictions
Collaborating with the General Counsel and external counsel on IP protection tactics, enforcement logic, and innovation positioning
Supporting trade secret policies and innovation pipelines internally
What We’re Looking For
You are a licensed patent agent or lawyer (Canada or U.S. bar; U.S. PTO bar highly preferred)
You have 7–10+ years in patent prosecution, IP strategy, or invention analysis
You understand both hardware-adjacent filings and pure software logic protection
You have previously supported engineering, R&D, or product teams on how to articulate and structure IP
You are comfortable working with ambiguity, draft-stage products, and abstract logic
Bonus: experience in blockchain frameworks, digital content delivery, AI architecture, or runtime UX layers
