Remote On-Site Baker

Bambams Bakery & Take Away is a locally owned and operated bakery serving the Cape York community with fresh, handmade baked goods and hearty takeaway meals. We’re located in one of Queensland’s most stunning and remote tropical regions, and we pride ourselves on delivering quality food with warm, friendly service.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable On-Site Baker to join our team in Cape York. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about baking who thrives in a fast-paced, self-motivated environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods daily, maintaining product quality, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld, working alongside our resident chef.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a range of products including breads, pies, pastries, and cakes
Execute the baking of products to meet daily production targets
Ensure freshness, consistency, and high standards in all products
Operate and maintain baking equipment safely and efficiently
Keep the kitchen and work areas clean and organised
Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed
Work collaboratively with our chef, the kitchen and takeaway staff
Requirements:

Proven experience as a baker (minimum 2 years preferred)
Strong knowledge of doughs, pastries, and baking techniques
Ability to work independently in a remote, self-sufficient environment
Reliable, punctual, and physically capable of standing for long periods
Commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards
Positive attitude and team player mindset
Desirable:

Experience working in remote or rural locations with a strong understanding of, or willing to learn the culture of our Traditional community peoples
Flexible with late night starts with rostered shifts and some weekend availability

Pay: $4+,588.17 – $80,+75.68 per year
