Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tax Accountant/Senior to join our professional, supportive and friendly team in our modern offices located at 41 Exhibition Street (41X).
The Tax Accountant / Senior role is responsible for:
Working with the client manager to manage a portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries
Using technical expertise across accounting and tax to deliver Annual Statutory Financial Statements, tax returns, and reconciliations, for companies, partnerships, trusts and Self Managed Super Funds from start to finish including billings.
Preparing taxation returns for individuals and organisations
Prepare logical and accurate working papers
Preparing and lodging BAS’s, IAS, FBT Returns by the due dates
Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
Providing guidance and support to junior team members, through quality feedback and review, coaching and delegation.
Attend client meetings with Partner/Manager
About you:
We want to hear from enthusiastic people who have:
3 years or more in relevant experience within an accounting practice
Previous experience mentoring and coaching graduates and junior team members
Bachelors degree or higher qualification and be CA qualified (or near completion)
Well developed communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent time management and personal organization skills.
Have exceptional customer service skills and a positive "can do attitude"
Have excellent presentation
Experiences in using MYOB AO/AE Practice Manager would be highly regarded, although not essential. If you have used XERO, APS or other accounting software, that too will be considered
Excellent MYOB AccountRight/MYOB Business/Xero Accounting skills
Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams
High attention to detail
Natural ability to work within a team environment; and
Proactive nature and ability to work autonomously
Committed to self-development and have ambitions for yourself and others.
Other Specifics of the Role are:
Analyses, reports and provides advice on taxation issues to organisations or individuals, prepares taxation returns and reports, and handles disputes with taxation authorities. Registration or licensing may be required.
assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
preparing financial statements for presentation to
boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies
conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations
liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements
maintaining internal control systems
may appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects
