Senior Legal Adviser (Employee Relations)

Full Time

Remote Working within the UK

Salary: Up to £60k

We have created a new role of in-house Employee Relations Specialist to
• develop an in-house employment law centre of excellence by providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters,
• represent the company's interests in legal proceedings related to employment issues (minimise risk and cost),
• improving HRBP and Management capability with regards to developing positive employee relations and avoiding a formal legal process.
• provide additional capability to address employment law matters with greater speed and efficiency, from contractual issues, developing policy, proactive development of Managers and HR Business Partners to managing tribunal claims.

The Senior Legal Adviser will be the employment law subject matter expert and trusted advisor across Lifeways and will build credible and visible relationships across the business. Working as an influential strategic partner, you will be shaping policy, driving improvement, and providing solutions to mitigate risks and learning opportunities.

• Reporting into the Head of Legal and working closely with the Head of Employee Relations, you will also be an integral part of the HR Leadership Team and being a key diver in HR policies, employment law practices and education of the wider business.
• Supported development through our Internal Legal department, a large HR Function with a team of HR Business Partners and internal Employment Advisers and our external solicitors to work through solutions.

What you can bring to Lifeways:
• Law Degree (LLB)or equivalent experience managing employee relations caseload.
• knowledge of UK employment legislation, regulations, and case law, and proven experience a in applying legal principles to business situations.
• track record of resolving complex employment cases and finding positive resolution to workplace conflict and formal claims.
• understanding of TUPE regulations to support transfers (in and out)
• understanding of ACAS conciliation process, Judicial mediation, and end to end employment tribunal process.
• communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
• to work at Senior Leadership level with multiple senior stakeholder groups.
• communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
