Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Relief Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications and the optimal use of pharmaceutical services. As a Relief Pharmacist, you will fill in for other pharmacists who are on leave, and will be responsible for maintaining a professional, safe, and efficient pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately dispense prescriptions and medications based on physician orders and medical history.
Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and proper storage.
Ensure proper medication storage and inventory management to maintain stock levels.
Review prescription orders for legality, appropriateness, and safety.
Work with healthcare providers to address any medication-related questions or concerns.
Verify and process insurance claims for medication dispensation.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions filled and dispensed.
Collaborate with team members and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.
Assist with managing pharmacy staffing and workflow during busy periods.
Provide leadership and support to pharmacy technicians and other team members when required.
Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid and active pharmacist license in Ontario.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, laws, and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Previous experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
