Job Description
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for payroll timecard review based on Divisions - identify incomplete/inaccurate timecards and communicate with Team Leaders to resolve in a timely manner while in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements within payroll deadlines
Prepare and respond to service tickets related to payroll and benefit entitlements
Prepare and enter historical edits affecting payroll and benefit entitlements
Calculate and enter Statutory pay entitlements, retroactive wage adjustments, and vacation entitlement conversions
Data entry completing templates for accounts receivable, bus pass, and benefit deductions with submission to FCL
Execute pre and post payroll reports required to balance payroll
Preparing and entering subsequent journal entries and requesting cheques associated with payroll
Calculate and prepare manual cheques and review data to ensure accurate Records of Employment
Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and the ability to work within absolute deadlines
Respond to and provide payroll information to all relevant stakeholders
Accomplished verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work closely with others in a collaborative environment
Qualifications:
One year of payroll related or office experience is required
Proven experience with the Microsoft Suite of Products, in particular Microsoft Excel
Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate, (PCP) or equivalent would be considered an asset
Familiar with time keeping and payroll systems an asset
a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
