K+ Officer - Security

Do you love Dogs? Do you enjoy a career that makes a difference? Securiguard is seeking K+ handlers to provide Detection/Protection/Patrol services to our various clients across Canada. Our K+ teams are government certified and licensed in Protection and Explosive or Narcotics Detection. Our advanced teams train with Canadian and U.S. Law Enforcement, the only private K+ Security teams to do so. Our highly skilled teams work in high profile sites including Ports, Airports, Arenas, Industrial Sites and Remote Locations.

Prior K+ Experience is a bonus but not mandatory - we will train you. Must love working with dogs

Position Summary:

Full Time K+ Protection & Detection Handlers

The Day to Day:

Support K+ Protection and Explosive/Narcotic Detection following established procedures.
Maintain flexibility for schedule changes and open availability.
Liaise with Governmental agencies, such as Transport Canada.
Deliver excellent customer service.
Attend mandatory K+ maintenance training.
Document and ensure thorough canine training.
Conduct interior and exterior patrols, including parking lots, stairwells, and common areas.
Assist Site Operations manager in responding to calls and coordinating with Police and Emergency Services Providers.
Provide detailed reports, including occurrence, incident, and patrol reports.
What you bring:

Valid provincial Security Guard License maintained.
2+ years of security experience, with preference for Police, Law Enforcement, or Security K+ background OR Strong Customer Service Background
Clean criminal background check.
Willingness to travel for training/testing.
Commitment to a 2 month paid K+ training program.
Class 5 driver's license with an annual clean abstract.
Open availability and physical fitness for 12-hour patrols, carrying 50lbs, and stairs.
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
Capability to care for K+ after hours, ensuring a suitable home.
Access to a suitable vehicle for K+ transportation in an approved crate.
Experience with difficult individuals.
Customer service and solutions focused.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
