Senior Java Developer - Fixed-term

As a senior java developer, you will have the ability to empower and influence your team and through collaboration build applications that will create an amazing experience for our customers and associates.
We are currently hiring for 12-month fixed-term opportunity with our technology team.
We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.
Make a difference on our technology team as a senior java developer.
What you’ll do as a senior java developer:
Collaborate with engineers and product owners with a flexible, team-first mindset
Work in our agile environment, driving development specifications for complex applications and defining engineering design patterns for scalability, performance, security, and usability
Take initiatives in proposing and implementing application changes to address business needs
Strengthen your leadership skills by giving technical direction to peers
What we’re looking for:
8+ years of experience in designing and developing back-end applications, showcasing proficiency in Java-based web technologies such as J2EE, Spring Boot, Servlets/JSP, and Hibernate
Demonstrated expertise in software development best practices, including the use of design patterns, conducting code reviews, and performing unit testing
Proven experience in mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership to your team
Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle and MongoDB
Knowledge of Test & Build frameworks
Experience with data structures, algorithms, distributed systems

Annualized base pay range
$107,000.00 - $117,700.00
This role has bonus components in addition to annualized base pay.
Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
