About the role

The Electrician role offers an exceptional opportunity to work underground with assisting instrumentation/electrical personnel in troubleshooting and implementing solutions on distributed control systems.

The position will be on an 7/7 roster (12 hour days) and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario . FIFO is not available.

Key result areas in this role include:
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment

Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

Maintain electrical prints and documentation

Assist in the training of apprentices on procedures and safe electrical practices

Provide suggestions on project improvements

Partake in training sessions to keep up to date of equipment on site

Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.

About you

As an Electrician, you will have acquired a valid Journeyman Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate and be in good standings with Skilled Trades Ontario (if registered in Ontario). A background in instrumentation/automation or a technician/technologist diploma is an asset.

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR

Solid comprehension and ability to read technical drawings

Well-developed ability to comprehend and interpret electrical and operations manuals

Comprehension of code books and electrical regulations

Sound understanding of electrical hazards associated with the position

Familiar with underground mining environment

Sound computer skills with proficiency in AutoCAD
