We are excited to be recruiting for a Hotel Houseperson at the Norwood Hotel.

The Norwood Hotel has always been an innovative leader in the hotel industry. The Norwood Hotel has an interesting and diverse history dating back to the latter part of the 1800’s. The earliest records available indicate a photograph of the hotel in 18+5. In 1+37, the Hotel came under the ownership of the late Merle Sparrow and has been operated by the Sparrow family ever since. This longevity in ownership makes the Norwood the oldest operated family hotel in Manitoba and one, if not the oldest in all of Western Canada.

The Houseperson plays a key role in both the housekeeping and maintenance departments. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the hotel's public areas, responding promptly to guest requests, and assisting with minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Duties include cleaning restrooms, floors, and glass surfaces; identifying and reporting maintenance issues; delivering items to guest rooms; and supporting basic repair work as needed. This is a hands-on role that ensures the hotel's public spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.

Duties:

· Cleaning of assigned public areas to the standard of training.

· Preparation of supplies for daily assignments.

· Proper maintenance of equipment, proper care and storage of supplies.

· Assisting other team members until all duties are complete.

· Cross training into other roles within the Housekeeping Department as needed.

· At least 1-2 years of direct Hotel Cleaning experience and maintenance tasks

· Strong understanding of hospitality standards and practices within the hotel environment.

· Positive and hardworking attitude

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
