Sewer and Water - Top Man / Helper

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

We are looking for pipelayers/pipelayer helpers with experience in the sewer and water industry. Job will consist of installing new, or repairing existing sewer, water, and land drainage systems.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ideally 2+ years of experience in the underground civil construction industry
Mechanically inclined with experience in related power tools
Be proficient in cutting beveling and connecting pipes
Grade or level trench bases using tampers and hand tools
Align and position pipes prior to bedding and backfill
Basic plan reading, following written instruction and helping supervisors with the layout
Operation of basic tools of the trade i.e.; pipe saw, jumping jack and plate compactor
Always work safely in all aspects of the work being undertaken (preparation, in-progress and clean up), including identifying, reporting or correcting all hazards and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on a regular basis
Follow directions of Supervisor and ensure work is performed to the specifications for each job
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license and have reliable transportation to the job site
Organize materials and needs for the next day’s work
