About the Role:


The Senior Community Engagement Advisor shapes how DEW engages and communicates on critical environmental issues across South Australia. They support DEW's vision for a thriving state build on sound stewardship of our environment and water.

Responsibilities

Developing and evaluating integrated engagement, communications, media and marketing strategies.
Leading engagement using International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) principles.
Providing strategic media advice and managing sensitive media issues.
Coordinating messaging across high-profile, complex and politically sensitive projects.
Contributing to the management of statewide owned channels including web, social media and newsletters and other foundational activities.
Strategic alignment and influence

The Senior Community Engagement Advisor collaborates with the Office of the Chief Executive, senior leaders and multiple project teams, ensuring consistent, strategic communication aligned with broader departmental and government priorities. They work on high-profile, complex and politically sensitive projects. They use their expertise to build engagement communications and marketing capacity more broadly across the agency.

Skills and expertise

Strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
Media strategy, management and issues handling.
Excellent collaboration and influencing skills.
Proven ability to navigate complex, politically sensitive environments.

3 years

Special Conditions:


May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
A current class “C" driver's licence and a willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd or undertake training is essential.
May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Remuneration:
ASO6 $+8,478 min - $104,165 max p.a.
