Job Description

exciting opportunity has arisen for a Duty Manager & Tour Guide with a passion for both the Speight's brand and its history to join the team at the spiritual home of Speight's in Dunedin.


The Speight's Brewery Tour, Shop & Cellar Door is an innovative, interactive and engaging beer experience that continues to grow. To ensure that the Speight's Brewery continues to be a successful Dunedin attraction, we are now looking to appoint someone who shares our passion for Speight's and Dunedin.


We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager who has an eye for detail and passion for providing outstanding southern hospitality to a wide range of visitors. The Duty Manager will be required to guide tours of the Brewery, as well as host tastings and events. This is a Permanent Position (35 - 40 hours per week).


To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:

Experience in successfully supervising, motivating and developing a team
A positive attitude with the ability to be solutions focused in challenging situations
Familiarity with Speight's history, beer industry-knowledge would be highly regarded
Flexibility to work rostered part-time hours, including weekends and evenings
A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

Our ideal candidate will have:

Current General Manager’s Certificate
Previous experience in a similar role within the Hospitality or Tourism Industry
Retail and merchandising experience
Reservation and administrative skills
Ability to work flexibly (including evenings and weekends)
