Job Description

Respite Care Provider Needed – 24-48 Hour Shifts
We are seeking a caring and dependable Respite Care Provider to support individuals with developmental disabilities.

Service Location:

Care may be provided either at the provider’s home or in the individual’s care home
Shift & Rate:

24-hour shifts
$200-$250 per 24 hours (including mileage)
Requirements & Skills:

Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
Experience in administering and recording medications accurately
Clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector for all adults in provider's home)
Valid First Aid & CPR certification
Food Safe certification
Basic cooking skills to prepare meals that meet dietary needs and restrictions
A dedicated private bedroom in the provider's home for the Individual (if care is required to be at provider's residence)
Ability to provide a safe and welcoming environment
Good communication skills and a patient, respectful attitude
Ability to document care activities and follow routines
Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance as needed
Assist clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort
Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life
Assist with daily living activities in a respectful and dignified manner
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
Follow individualized care plans and support daily routines consistently
Monitor and report any behavioral, health, or emotional changes to family or agency staff
Support community participation or recreational engagement, where appropriate
Complete shift notes and care records accurately and on time
Maintain client confidentiality and uphold their rights and dignity at all times
