Job Details

This is a probationary position with the opportunity to become continuous, based on evaluations. The successful candidate will be a Social Studies specialist, with the ability to teach humanities at either the junior or senior high -1 level. We have a collective agreement and salary grid.

Aurora Academic Charter Secondary School is a Grade 8-12 public school focused on achieving excellence in a direct instruction environment. Teachers play a crucial role in fostering community and culture in our newly opened school. Alongside subject expertise, they emphasize leadership and team-building skills while ensuring school safety through supervision responsibilities.

Teachers will need to vary the instructional strategies, motivational techniques, and remediation strategies depending on the needs of their students with a goal to enhancing academic achievement. Staff are responsible for building relationships with parents and keeping them informed about student progress, strengths, and specific strategies for growth.

General Qualifications
●Education Degree from an accredited institution
● Successful teaching experience in grades 7-+ and/or 10-12 Social Studies
● Experience in a homeroom environment would be beneficial
