Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques and a strong understanding of both residential and commercial painting projects. This role requires attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Painter & Decorator will be responsible for transforming spaces through high-quality painting services.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking or using other methods to ensure a smooth finish.
Apply paint, varnish, stain, epoxy and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on residential and industrial projects.
Prepare, cut, install, and remove vinyl wallcoverings and wallpaper.
Restore and maintain existing paintwork by performing touch-ups or complete repaints as needed.
Read job plans and job descriptions to understand project specifications and requirements.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Ensure all work is completed within budget.
Use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding as required in compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
Skills

Proficiency in residential painting techniques along with experience in commercial painting projects.
Strong skills in restoration processes for various surfaces.
Familiarity with construction painting practices.
Ability to read job plans and descriptions to follow project guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong aesthetic sense for color matching and design.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
Adhering to provincial and federal safety regulations, and ensuring safe practices are always maintained on the job site.
Requirements

Painting experience.
Ability to distinguish between colours.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs and perform manual labour tasks for long periods of time.
Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
Be able to reliably commute to and from various job sites.
