Formwork Carpenter

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be comfortable working with a variety of materials and tools. This role involves constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork requirements
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install formwork using a variety of hand and power tools
Set forms for concrete placement, including vertical and horizontal applications
Ensure alignment, level, and plumb of formwork before concrete placement
Strip and dismantle forms once concrete has cured, and prepare materials for reuse
Follow safety procedures and comply with site regulations and company policies
Work collaboratively with concrete finishers, labourers, and site supervisors
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor immediately
Qualifications

Minimum 2–5 years of formwork carpentry experience, preferably in commercial or civil construction
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Strong knowledge of concrete formwork systems (PERI, Doka, custom wood forms, etc.)
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid) are an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $32.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
