About the Organization
This Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) funded research aims to reduce the disparity of access to effective programs that address family violence in rural and remote areas of the Atlantic provinces and to build evidence-base programs addressing use of violence against partners by adapting a Safety and repair approaches at Bridges Center for an online delivery. The last year of the study will focus on knowledge mobilization, developing research papers, and organizing meetings with the research team. Our knowledge mobilization efforts will include creating accessible summaries and presenting findings at key conferences. The research papers will synthesize the primary findings while team meetings will ensure collaborative interpretation of results and coordinated publication planning.
Job Summary
Reporting to the principal investigator, the Research Coordinator position will be responsible for working with the research team to coordinate and implement the final year of a four-year research study according to the requirements and expectations of the funding agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Work with lead researcher and team on communicating research findings through knowledge mobilization including developing conference abstracts and writing, editing, contributing to publication and webinars.
Oversee budget, communication with PHAC and produce final report.
Work with lead researcher, research team and data analyst on synthesizing data analysis.
Hold research team meetings with and without advisory committee.
Engage with local agencies and community organizations.
Literature review of relevant research and policy literature.
Apply for Ethics final report.
Note
Majority work from home and occasional work on evenings and weekends
Required Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in social work or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years research experience preferably related to intervention research.
Knowledge and expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Familiarity with community research-based principles.
Knowledge of issues relating to people experiencing family violence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Assets
Experience with research software such as NVivo, ATLAS.ti and SPSS.
Experience with managing budgets.
Experience in project management.
Experience with policy and literature reviews.
Excellent facilitation skills.
