Applications Writer

About the job:
We're looking for experienced writers who have a fair grasp of long-form content and are open to specializing in a niche (university applications). If you have the writing chops, you will be given complete support while you grasp the specifics of our industry (career counseling for dentists).

If you have more than a few years of experience as a writer, we'd be happy to promote you to Editor once you have a handle on the specific requirements of the documents we deal with. For newbies (1-3 years of experience), we'd be happy to help you grow into Editor role!

Key responsibilities:

1. Write, edit, and structure statements of purpose (SOPs) tailored to specific universities and programs.

2. Draft letters (LORs) in distinct tones, based on inputs from various recommenders (e.g., faculty, employers, research mentors).

3. Convert raw questionnaire responses into polished short- and long-form Q&As for supplemental application answers.

4. Collaborate with our counseling team to ensure every draft reflects the candidate's authentic voice, strengths, and goals.

5. Ensure clarity, flow, grammar, and adherence to word/character limits across all documents.

6. Maintain discretion and professionalism while handling sensitive client information.

Note: Strong command of English and a keen eye for tone, structure, and narrative flow.

Other Requirements:

1. 1–2 years of experience in professional writing, editing, or similar roles (excluding marketing content).

3. Familiarity with academic or admissions writing is a plus.

4. Comfortable working remotely with timely communication.
