Job Description
Brandt Tractor is looking for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technicians for our Regina location. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, detailed-oriented, and take pride in their work. This position performs an important step in Brandt’s ability to deliver a high-quality product and experience to our customers.
In this position, our Pre-Delivery Inspection Technicians are responsible for performing equipment inspections, making machine adjustments and repairs, and installing custom attachments on a broad range of construction, utility, and forestry equipment. These processes ensure that the equipment meets all Brandt and OEM quality standards expected by our customers.
Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and computer skills are required to successfully perform the job. Brandt offers on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement. This position is based out in Moncton, Ontario.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performing full pre-delivery inspections on machines prior to delivery to the customer
Performing routine mechanical duties as well as assembly, maintenance, and minor repair of equipment.
Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty mobile equipment, including:
Diesel engine and engine support systems
Transmissions
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Differentials and final drives
Steering, suspension, and brake systems
Electrical/electronic systems
Structural components
Heating and cooling systems
Machine operation and control systems
Fluid and fuel systems
Use testing instruments, hand, air, and electric tools correctly in assembly, maintenance, repair, and inspection
Use secondary materials and equipment safely, such as rigging, welding equipment, and cleaning/pressure washers
Safely operate and road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Ensure all work is performed safely, including the safe disposal, storage, or recycling of hazardous materials.
Use computer applications and information systems in maintenance, inspection, and parts ordering
Document assembly process and report time on work orders accurately and completely
Perform any additional work requested/required to meet the needs of PDI, Sales, Service, and their customers
Complete assigned Brandt and OEM training modules to continually increase knowledge and skill set

Required Skills
Foundational mechanical and technical aptitude
Demonstrates a strong commitment to occupational health and safety
Possesses strong customer service skills, and communicates with customers as required
Able to work well with service team and branch personnel
Able to organize work, set priorities, and achieve work-related objectives and goals
Shows initiative in learning about Brandt Tractor’s products and customers
Demonstrated professionalism and takes pride in the role
Previous experience with John Deere heavy equipment would be considered an asset
Required Experience
Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred, but will consider Agriculture or Mechanic experience as well
Preference will be given to applicants with Journeyman certificate, but not required
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to work shift work
