As an Institutional Analyst you will provide support to the PH&N Institutional team, with a primary focus on Global Fixed Income, Credit, and Alternative Investments.

What will you do?

Direct accountability within the capability specialist team for developing and maintaining deep knowledge of global fixed income and credit alternatives, investment strategies, market conditions, and portfolio positioning in the support of Institutional Portfolio Managers, clients, and prospects.

Assist in creating content and preparing presentations, data analysis, and other forms of client communication.

Assist in the day-to-day requests for information, cash flow management, compliance monitoring, mandate structuring, all in support of strategies employed by our institutional clients.

Compose written market analysis and create and maintain corresponding charts and slides.

Support research/creative analysis for thought leadership papers, product development, and internal/external seminars.

Provide support for client mandates, including creating content and managing the production, review, and distribution of client reporting (monthly, quarterly, and on request).

Work with our client relationship management (CRM) system to capture and maintain key business development activities, mandate changes, and critical client information.

Work with various teams across RBC GAM to facilitate the construction and maintenance of IMAs, SIPPs, and IPSs on behalf of our institutional clients.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

Bachelor’s or advanced degree; focus in finance, commerce, or economics preferred.

3 – 7 years investment / financial services (or related) industry experience.

CFA Charterholder, candidate, or willingness to pursue the designation.

Knowledge and experience related to fixed income and/or alternative investment strategies.

Passion for markets and the skills and attributes that demonstrate potential to develop over long-term career growth.

Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.

Given nature of the role, will be required to have a flexible work schedule and effectively prioritize and multitask to meet tight deadlines.

Nice to Have

Client facing experience.

Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think strategically.

Superior literacy of Microsoft office applications, particularly excel and PowerPoint.

Bilingual English/French.

The expected base salary range for the above position is $70,000 - $100,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.

This position will be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
