Job description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Accounts to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm, as well as exposure to managing returns and accounting functions in a manufacturing environment. The role requires an individual with strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts Management:
• Oversee daily accounting activities including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of accounts.
• Preparation and finalization of monthly and yearly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow).
• Ensure proper documentation of accounting transactions and maintain audit-ready records.
• Taxation and Returns:
• Assist with preparation and filing of GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax submissions.
• Review and manage tax compliance, and provide recommendations for tax savings and structuring.
• Handle audits and assessments related to tax filings.
• Manufacturing Accounting:
• Manage and monitor costing and inventory management for manufacturing operations.
• Reconcile manufacturing costs and inventory with financial statements.
• Ensure proper costing and stock valuation methods are followed, including WIP and finished goods.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and variance analysis.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
• Coordinate with the CA firm and external auditors for internal audits and statutory audits.
• Support the preparation of periodic financial reports and analysis to help management make informed decisions.
• Financial Planning and Analysis:
• Analyze financial data and provide reports to senior management for decision-making purposes.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for the manufacturing division.
• Help in identifying areas of cost control and operational efficiencies.
• Team Management (if applicable):
• Support and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to deadlines.
• Assist in training and development of the team in accounting practices and tax compliance.

Requirements:
• Educational Qualification:
• CA Inter or CA qualified or equivalent qualification (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Accounting (required).
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a CA firm.
• Experience in handling returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax).
• Strong exposure to accounting practices in a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting and inventory management.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar).
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Good knowledge of the manufacturing sector’s accounting processes, including cost allocation, stock valuation, and production-related accounting.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
