Job Description
Role: GCP Cloud Consultant
Based in PAN India, this is a 100% remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
• GCP Monitoring & Alerts:
• Implement, manage, and optimize GCP monitoring tools (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting).
• Define and maintain alerting policies for critical resources and services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents based on alerts and logs.
• Dataproc Monitoring:
• Monitor Dataproc clusters for health, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Automate cluster scaling and ensure optimal job scheduling and execution.
• Work with data teams to fine-tune jobs and minimize cluster downtime.
• Cloud Composer Monitoring:
• Ensure the reliability of Cloud Composer (Airflow) environments.
• Monitor DAG performance and task failures.
• Troubleshoot environment issues, dependencies, and Airflow worker performance.
• GCS Storage Management:
• Manage Google Cloud Storage buckets, lifecycle policies, and permissions.
• Optimize storage usage, including archival and deletion policies.
• Ensure data security and compliance with access control best practices.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization:
• Continuously tune GCP services for cost, latency, and throughput improvements.
• Review and optimize cloud architecture in coordination with DevOps, Data, and Engineering teams.
• Provide insights and recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing GCP environments.
• Proficiency with GCP tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Composer, and Data proc.
• Solid experience with IAM, GCS, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Experience with performance monitoring and capacity planning in a cloud environment.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation.
