Senior Convention Service Manager Position Overview

We are currently hiring a Senior Convention Service Manager to lead our team at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, ON. This key role involves managing the logistical aspects of group and convention bookings, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding client expectations.
• Responsibilities:
• Manage group and catering customer relationships proactively.
• Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive plans for group room blocks, food and beverage, public meeting space, and billing processes.
• Promote Banquet revenue growth through effective upselling and catering sales strategies.
• Attend BEO meetings, distribute materials, and participate in GRC/Pickup discussions.
• Ensure successful execution of trial meals and wedding events, transitioning smoothly to the operations team.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions within the system, responding promptly to inquiries and confirming event details.
• Track group room blocks and pickups, generating detailed reports for operating departments.
• Develop and manage Food & Beverage revenue forecasts and budgets.
• Implement strategic initiatives aligned with the Area DOSM's objectives.
• Foster strong relationships with external vendors to guarantee exceptional client satisfaction.
• Send personalized thank-you notes to clients after events and address any negative feedback in a timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with Sales Managers to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
