Job description
We are seeking a skilled Events Manager to lead our Banquet department.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct and control the Banquet Operations at an excellent level while maintaining and abiding by all standards, policies, and/or procedures.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship for the banquet team.
• Identify skill and leadership potential in crew members and develop them into management roles.
• Execute banquets and manage quality assurance.
• Manage clients and customer service, including event quotes and accounts management.
• Plan inventory and labor control.
• Submit weekly financial reporting regarding banquet sales, targets, and labor control.

The Events Manager will have the opportunity to develop and mentor their own team, set specific financial targets, and be a brand ambassador in their community.

Grey Cup Festival Operations and Events Coordinator

The Grey Cup Festival is a premier sports event that goes beyond football celebrations. It's a week-long, city-wide experience featuring concerts, fan zones, cultural events, and unforgettable moments. As the Operations and Events Coordinator, you will play a key role in bringing this magic to life. Your responsibilities will include planning and executing logistics, coordinating with vendors, managing event timelines, and ensuring seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and executing the logistics of Grey Cup Festival events, including venue setup, equipment rentals, signage, transportation, décor, and ticketing.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure all elements are delivered on time and meet expectations.
• Support development and management of event timelines, site plans, and operational checklists.
• Delve into diverse event programming, including concerts, community activities, family zones, partner activations, and more.
• Liaise with performers, presenters, suppliers, and festival partners to guarantee smooth event execution.
• Coordinate volunteer teams and onsite staff, providing clear direction and support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with administrative tasks.
• Provide post-event evaluations and reporting as required.

Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience in event planning, logistics, and site operations is essential.
• Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and contractors is vital.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to interact with diverse stakeholders, including artists, partners, community groups, and volunteers.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors, on-site, and in a dynamic team setting.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends leading up to and during the festival.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience with project/event management tools is an asset.
• Experience supervising volunteers is highly valued.
