Description
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board develops and enforces reasonable administrative regulations relative to the sale and use of alcoholic beverages. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control includes various divisions as follows: the Commissioner’s office, the Distilled Spirits and Malt Beverage divisions, an administrative services branch, a licensing division, an education branch, a legal division and an enforcement division. These departments work together to ensure excellent public service and effective enforcement.
We are looking for an Auditor for Special Investigations II to join our team of highly skilled professionals within the Operational Branch of the Enforcement Division of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plans and implements investigative audit services within the framework of both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) while conduct professional level investigative audits of financial records of ABC licensees.
Uses GAAP and GAAS standards to prepare work papers and document evidence to support investigations, audit reports, and other necessary adjustments and recommendations. Develops plans and methods, including investigative reviews, examinations and audits of financial documents for conducting an investigative audits for the department.
Examines financial documents, accounting records, bank statements, computer records, business records, public documents and other relevant records and accurate record keeping.
Prepares reports setting forth the findings of investigations for hearings and/or courts. Prepares charts and other related material for use in complicated investigations and for use in hearings and/or trials. Conducts interviews of witnesses.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree (which includes twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours in accounting).
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of accounting, auditing, investigative, management, or computer science experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Certification as Certified Public Accountant will substitute for the required education and three years of the required experience.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
