Turf Technician

About the Role


Working in our Sports Division, you will work in a team responsible for maintaining various sporting facilities across the North Shore. The role will be varied and will include a range of duties from cricket wicket preparation to sports field Renovations, including managing the cricket pitches and sports fields for both summer and winter codes, including general mowing maintenance, turf and grass establishment, line marking, cricket wicket preparation, irrigation, drainage and operating relevant tools and machinery.

You will need to have previous experience managing cricket wickets, but may have additional experience working in turf, golf, sports fields or similar grounds keeping experience. This role will suit an individual who takes pride in seeing a job well done and someone who has an eye for detail. This role will suit someone with a genuine passion for sports turf.

We are happy to support the right candidate to gain formal qualifications and certification.

Tasks and Responsibilities


Working independently and at times with others to follow and complete a schedule of work.
General field and cricket wicket maintenance.
Sport Field renovations
Mowing and edging
Cricket Wicket preparation.
Turf and grass establishment.
Irrigation and drainage.
Assist in other projects as required.
Contributing to a positive team culture that promotes respect, professionalism, and excellence.


About You

Has 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Holds a valid grow safe certificate
Have experience with various types of machinery and equipment – mowers, vehicles, small plant
Hold a full NZ Drivers licence.
Must be physically fit
Reliable and always on time for work.
Self-motivated
High standard of professionalism.
