About the Role
The Health Economist is a national leader within Hauora Māori Service Directorate and will support the organisation specialised public health economic expertise. In this role you will focused on advocating for Hauora Māori and Te Tiriti interests, seeking alignment of national strategies, investment priorities and Māori-centric activities.
About the Team/Service/ Location
As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.
About you
You will have a master's degree in health economics and will be someone who has a good understanding of overarching strategies and plans across the health and social systems. As a natural leader, you will be able to provides leadership that shows commitment, urgency and is visibly open, clear, and innovative whilst building mutually beneficial partnerships with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
You will have:
Strong analytical and thought leadership development skills
Experience in influencing people, leading work programmes, change management and facilitation, coaching and mentoring staff
Strong written and oral communication skills with a natural ability to build relationships
