The Intelligence Support Officer presents as an excellent opportunity to join the Corrections Intelligence team in an administrative role. In supporting the Intelligence team, your key accountabilities will encompass working alongside the intelligence team to complete data entry and data extraction. As a national resource, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding information that will need you to be confident and able to manage relationships effectively.
This is a pivotal role where you will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, and you will need to present with an engaging and open communication style and a positive team orientation. You will be required to process requests for information (RFIs) and production orders, liaise with internal stakeholders to get the information and provide professional and timely responses. This involves a good understanding of the legislation associated with information sharing, sound decision making and excellent relationship management.
To do this role effectively you will need to present with an inquisitive nature and the motivation to be an integral part of the Corrections Intelligence team. To be successful in this position you will need to be relatively tech savvy, well versed in Excel, Microsoft Word and other data storage systems. There may be some opportunities for collection and collation of intelligence information outside of your core administration functions time allowing.
This role is available to be based from our offices in either Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch to align with our regional functions and maintain business continuity.

As the preferred candidate you will be able to actively demonstrate the following:
Experience in data entry and records management.
Knowledge of Intelligence administrative processes, systems and technology.
An understanding of legislation and its application (e.g. Privacy Act).
Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and a relevant Intelligence database.
Ability to collate and present information to support preparation of core intelligence products and meetings/panels.
An ability to show initiative when faced with new and unfamiliar tasks and persistence when faced with difficult and time-consuming tasks.
Ability to respond to prompt and timely requests for information from external agencies and assistance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work unsupervised and work independently.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders in a professional and customer friendly manner.
Must be capable of obtaining and must retain appropriate level of security clearance through NZIS vetting process.
Utu a-tau | Salary
The full salary range for this position ranges from $62,217 - $65,+34 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
