Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead client relationships and oversee monthly close and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to thrive in a self-directed environment.

Main Responsibilities:
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring clear communication, timely delivery, and strong long-term partnerships.
• Monthly Close Oversight: Own the full month-end close cycle, from journal entries to reconciliations and final financial review.
• Financial Statement Delivery: Review and deliver high-quality monthly financial statements that align with US GAAP and client expectations.
• Special Projects & Due Diligence: Lead ad hoc projects such as financial due diligence, technical accounting support, audit prep, and accounting system transitions.
• Team Leadership & Quality Control: Mentor and guide junior staff, uphold accuracy in all deliverables, and continuously improve processes and internal controls.
• Self-Driven Execution: Operate independently, owning outcomes for your clients.

Requirements:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
• Minimum 6 years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm (EY, PwC, Deloitte, or KPMG)
• Hands-on experience working with US-based clients
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and month-end close
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines independently

Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero
• Background in startups or consulting firms
• Familiarity with ASC 606, ASC 842, and other technical US GAAP standards
