About the Role

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys a fast-paced acute environment? Do you take pride in supporting a team to deliver the best possible clinical care and do you demonstrate flexibility and have a collaborative, solution focused approach? If so, this may be the opportunity you are looking for.

This important role provides support to the Charge Nurse Manager with responsibility for the day-to-day clinical coordination of the nursing team to ensure the provision of high-quality health care for patients. This position enables an effective practice environment through providing clinical and professional nursing leadership, coaching and supervision as required. The ACNM also has ongoing delegated responsibility for aspects of the CNM role.

As the ACNM you will be required to work rostered and rotating shifts including afternoon and morning shifts, weekends and public holidays. We have two part-time positions working 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE).

About the Team/Service/ Location

The MSW team works across a 38-bed unit at Wairarapa Hospital and has strong links with other inpatient services including the Emergency Department and High Dependency Unit, and the Perioperative and Rehabilitation services.

About you

You will have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing practice and acute care. You will have a strong patient centred approach, superb communication skills and the ability to form strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across a range of settings.

Registered Nurse qualification including registration with the Nursing Council of NZ
Relevant post graduate qualification or working towards
Achievement of proficient or expert/leadership level on the PDRP
Previous experience in a senior nursing role and leadership experience in healthcare is advantageous
Previous experience in a medical and / or surgical setting (leadership and / or clinical) is advantageous
Working at Health New Zealand
