Full job description
Software Engineer

You are passionate for simplifying and enriching people's work experiences.

We are a team consisting of visionary thinkers dedicated to shaping the future of banking.

Together we can develop industry-leading product lifecycles that enhance capabilities, support people, and leverage technology.

Do work that matters

We're building tomorrow’s bank today, which means we need creative and diverse engineers to help us redefine what customers expect from a bank. Envisioning new technologies that are still waiting to be invented and reimagining products that support our customers and help build Australia’s future economy.

See yourself in the team

This role is embedded within the financial crimes domain, where your work will directly contribute to building secure, intelligent systems that detect and prevent illicit activity.

We’re seeking a Senior Full Cycle Software Engineer who brings deep experience across the stack and a passion for building scalable, modern systems. You’ll lead the design and delivery of end-to-end solutions across services and platforms, with a strong focus on observability, diagnostics, and performance optimization.

You’ll also help drive our shift to full-cycle engineering—owning quality, automation, and reliability from development through to production.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Strong coding experience in an enterprise environment using a contemporary language such as Java, or C# with relevant frameworks to create testable and maintainable code.

Solid understanding of data design, data querying with SQL, data frameworks, ETL processes, data pipelines, and data optimization

Proficient with microservices architecture and integration with RESTful APIs and messaging i.e. Kafka

Good knowledge of the full SDLC lifecycle and modern engineering practices with strong focus on functional, reliability, security, and performance testing and debugging

Expertise in DevSecOps using CI/CD tools like TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Snyk, SonarQube

Skilled in application monitoring and observability using tools such as App Dynamics; Grafana and Prometheus

Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter and Blaze meter (added advantage)

Experience configuring, customizing, and testing vendor (COTS) products (added advantage)

Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native development (optional)

Skilled in application monitoring and observability using tools such as App Dynamics; Grafana and Prometheus

Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter and Blaze meter (added advantage)

Familiarity with GenAI tools

A keen interest in researching new AI tooling and you are a daily user of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Continue, GitHub CoPilot, Aider, Cline, etc. (added advantage).

Tech Stack:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

C#, .Net, Python or Java

Hands on in AWS Cloud technologies

Database and transactional knowledge

Working knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD pipelines

Good experience in messaging technologies (MQ, Kafka)

In depth knowledge of Kafka

Knowledge of Oracle DB

Python, SQL

Knowledge of Redshift, Snowflake
