Job Description

The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for: coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

Are you a highly organized administrative professional who thrives in a dynamic environment? The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a Directorate Administrative Coordinator to join the office of the Deputy Secretary, Indigenous and Intergovernmental Affairs, in Yellowknife.

This pivotal position supports the Senior Management Team within the Indigenous and Intergovernmental Affairs branch ¿ including the Deputy Secretary, Directors, and Special Advisory ¿ by ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of operations, communications, and ministerial correspondence. You'll play a key role in supporting high-level initiatives, managing confidential documents, and acting as the first point of contact for the branch.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a full range of senior administrative and office management services to the Senior Management Team.
Review and enhance administrative processes, develop internal procedures, and support staff in their implementation.
Coordinate and track ministerial correspondence and ensure timely, accurate document flow to the Deputy Minister¿s Office.
Prepare, format, and edit a variety of professional documents and presentations.
Organize meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.
Train and guide casual administrative staff and assist with onboarding new team members.
Maintain the ARCS/ORCS records management systems and oversee proper handling and filing of both physical and electronic content.
Key Qualifications

A High School Diploma and a post-secondary Administrative Certificate with a minimum of five (5) years senior office experience.
We would also consider the following equivalencies:

An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or Human Resources and 2 years of Senior Office Experience
A Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, and a minimum of 4 years of Senior Office experience
