Overview
Urgently seeking hard-working Roofing/General construction workers. The position(s) involve a variety of roofing and construction tasks, requiring both craftsmanship and physical strength. The ideal candidate will be proficient in steel roofing as well as various carpentry techniques and possess a strong work ethic, with the ability to work collaboratively on projects that enhance residential and commercial spaces.

MUST HAVE:

Steel Roofing experience
Basic carpentry and/or general handyman skills
Experience with construction painting and finishing techniques.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, drills, chisels, and levels..
Working from Heights Certificate.
A CSA certificate and training for articulated boom and scissor lifts.
Steel-toed boots and a hard hat, basic carpentry tools.
Own transportation or the ability to get to a job site in Port Hope. Candidates with a Driver's License and a vehicle are preferred.
We are expecting to need 6 to 8 new team members.
Salary base is at $25 an hour. Higher hourly rates will be negotiated based on experience and certification.

Duties Include

Install steel roofing
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Install siding and ensure proper sealing to protect against weather elements.
Conduct construction painting tasks to finish surfaces with attention to detail.
Utilize hand tools effectively for various carpentry tasks.
Plumb structures accurately to ensure alignment and stability.
Assist in heavy lifting and moving materials as needed on job sites.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.
Qualifications

Proven experience in steel roofing
Proven experience in carpentry or related construction fields is preferred.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
A commitment to safety practices on job sites is essential.
