Pattison Media Ltd. is looking for a news reporter to join a talented group of journalists in North Battleford and Meadow Lake, SK.

We are the #1 news source for the area on our digital and radio broadcast platforms - relaying news and information that matters most to our consumers. You’ll work and reside in North Battleford – the young and growing hub of north-west Saskatchewan. The city also boasts one of the lowest living costs in the province. You’ll be part of a provincial news team and have access to experienced journalists and managers for mentorship. We have an inclusive, fun workplace and we thrive in the fast-paced environment needed to deliver breaking and daily news for the web and radio. We expect our reporters to arrive prepared each morning with 2-3 news stories. If you’re not working on a story, you’re finding one – making contacts and connections in the area. Our reporters are on general assignment, so you’ll be covering everything from court and city council to sports and entertainment. Reporters are also required to write featured commercial content from time to time.

YOU HAVE:

A minimum of 6 months to 1 years’ experience in broadcast or print journalism (CP style)
Strong journalistic skills, integrity, and the ability to ensure all news content meets editorial, ethical, and legal standards
Motivation to lead by example through enterprise reporting
Excellent knowledge of local news and current affairs
A willingness to learn and collaborate with other PML members
A valid driver’s license
