Non Medical Helper - Specialist Study Skills Tutor (SpLD/ASC)

About The Role
We are seeking Specialist Study Skills Tutors to support the academic progress of students at both Falmouth University and University of Exeter (Cornwall campuses).
This role involves providing study skills support to students with various and sometimes complex conditions including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs). As part of this role, you will offer one-to-one study skills support to a caseload of students, encouraging them to use and reflect upon a range of strategies and assistive technology tools with a view to promoting autonomy and independence.
An important additional aspect of the work is efficient use of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems to communicate, book appointments and record sessions with students. This role is campus-based, but you may be required to work with students online when this is their preference.
This post is offered on a casual, hourly-paid basis, but we are particularly interested in hearing from people who could offer a minimum of 10 to 12 contact hours per week during term time.
About You
As well as experience in working professionally with adults or young people in a teaching role, you will have membership of a professional body and qualifications as recognised within the “DfE Mandatory Criteria” for Specialist study skills tutors (document available to download from Mandatory Qualifications The details of accepted professional membership bodies are on pp 12 to 17).
We are particularly interested in hearing from study skills tutors who are qualified and experienced in supporting students with autism as well as SpLDs. You will be a confident and competent IT user with experience of using CRMs and applications such as Microsoft Office.
You will also have a good knowledge of using and incorporating Assistive Technology (AT) within the study skills session.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to undertake a clear Enhanced with Regulated Activity DBS check.
